County crowns five sectional wrestling champions

Five Pierce County high school wrestlers won sectional titles Saturday and another six also qualified for next week's individual state wrestling meet.
All of those titles were won at the Division 2 Osceola Sectional. Ellsworth claimed three of them led by D.J. Yarwood at 119 pounds, Hayden Hauschildt at 145, Shawn Helmueller at 152. Prescott had two won by Mike Feriancek at 130 and Jake Filkins at 189.
Also qualifying for the state meet in Madison from this sectional for Prescott was John Kariesch at 285, fininshing second; Ellsworth's Sam Huppert, third at 112, Noah McLay, third at 160; Jordan Borst, third at 171 and Alex Hoyer, third at 215.
At the Division 3 Sectional in Osseo, Spring Valley-Elmwood did not have any champions, but did have won state qualifier in Brady Webb, who placed third at 103.
