The pool and Fitness Influence are hosting the first annual triathlon on Sunday, June 14. The triathlon is $30 for individuals and $45 for teams. It includes 1/4 swim, 14-mile bike and 2.5-mile run. It’s that time again!
The dome is coming down! The pool will close at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 8, and expects to re-open on Tuesday, May 26 (after Memorial Day). The opening dates are tentative; please check the pool’s Web site or call the pool to receive updated information.
Step aerobics while dome is down
Early morning step aerobics classes will be offered from 5:15-6:15 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings while the pool is closed to bring the dome down. Classes will be held at the north (small) gym at the middle school. Shower facilities will be available.
Summer swimming lessons
Public summer swimming lessons are offered in July and August on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6 and 7 p.m. Sign-up is held at the Ellsworth Community Middle School cafetorium from 6 to 8 p.m. Sign-up will be held one to two weeks prior to the lesson start date, usually one of the last Mondays of the month. All payments are taken the night of sign-up. Sign-up dates do alter. The best way to be sure of the date is to check the Web site one month prior to when lessons are to be held.
Summer school lessons
Summer school Lessons are offered for Ellsworth community students in grades K-12. Lessons are held Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to noon for three weeks with 30-minute sessions. Sign up in the district office for these lessons. The office’s phone number is 273-3900.
Parent and Tot Open Swim
Parent and Tot Open Swim time is set aside to be available to anyone wanting to introduce children to the water in a relaxed, comfortable and playful manner. The parent or guardian must join the child in the water and the slide will be available upon request. Admission for adults is $3, for students K-12 (five years and up) is $2 and children four-years-old and under is free.
