MAIDEN ROCK — Lace up those tennis shoes, as on Saturday, May 9, Maiden Rock Apples will host the Nature Walk/Run for Life, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society!

Co-sponsored with the West Wisconsin Land Trust (WWLT), the non-competitive event allows participants to enjoy a 5K (three-mile) walk or run while following a designated course through the scenic WWLT’s Maiden Rock Bluff Natural Area. Cancer survivors, families, friends and others affected by cancer celebrate life while raising funds to find a cure and help cancer patients.

The day will include a send-off through the apple blossoms and an opportunity to learn more regarding the Nature Area from WWLT staff at the site. Following the walk/run, participants can listen to music by “The KGB Band,” picnic on the grounds with sandwiches and snacks available at the orchard, and bid on the special items presented at the Silent Auction.

Consider helping the community’s fight against cancer by running or walking in honor or memory of a loved one who has battled cancer. Get a group together and enjoy the camaraderie. Registration fee is $10 before this Friday and $15 afterwards.
