Cardinals’ ‘ruffled’ by Brewers’ quick exit to post-game celebration

Bill Hall ruffled some feathers in the Cardinals’ clubhouse when he rushed into the dugout as soon as he touched first base to end the Brewers’ victory Monday.

Casey McGehee also kept running into the dugout as soon as he scored the winning run and Mike Cameron did the same from second base.

Instead of the usual high-fives on the field, the Brewer players orchestrated a celebration in their clubhouse, where the Cardinals couldn’t see them.

Last summer, the Cards complained loudly when the Brewers tucked their uniform shirts out the moment they won a game.

They said they did it to salute Cameron’s father, who did the same after a hard day of work.

But the Cardinals called it a sign of disrespect.

Of course, none of the Brewers would admit responding to the Cards’ complaint from a year ago.

Hall said it was about the 25 players in the locker room, and they all care about each other.

Cameron said they’ve been working on the celebration for awhile.

He called it a one-game thing, and it won’t happen again.
