ELMWOOD -- Dale Webb woke up one morning and could barely move his shoulder.

His life hasn’t been the same since.

It took two years to find the cause of what was ailing Webb--rheumatoid arthritis (RA), for which he was diagnosed in 1997. Six years later, the disease moved to his heart.

As a result, such things as bending over or going for a walk can take its toll on the Elmwood native. In addition, Webb hasn’t worked in over a month at Custom Drywall, located in St. Paul, where he was human resources director.

Custom Drywall is hosting a benefit for the 47-year-old starting at 5:30 p.m. this Friday. The dinner is an hour later. All proceeds will go toward Webb’s medical expenses.
