Plum City rallies to beat Spring Valley in regional final

PLUM CITY - Plum City fell behind Spring Valley 5-2 in the top of the eighth inning but came back to score four runs in their last at bat to win 6-5 at Legion Park and win the WIAA Division 4 regional tournament title Wednesday.
Valley scored three runs in the top of the eighth thanks to back-to-back doubles from Mike Johnson and Russell Hauge and a single from Dustin Bune.
But PC took advantage of four walks, a hit batsman and a passed ball to score four runs in the eighth. Andy Heath also drove in a run that inning.
Zach Gilles was the winning pitcher. He hit a solo home run in the sixth inning that tied the score at 2-2. PC's Chase Luebker hit a single. Bune drove in a run in the first inning while Ryan Flynn hit a double.
Plum City improves to 11-10 overall and will play Chippewa Falls McDonell next Tuesday in the Bruce Sectional tournament. Spring Valley finishes the season at 8-9 overall.
