Skeeters lose in 12 innings to Pine Island, Minn.

HAGER CITY - The Hager City Skeeters played the Pine Island, Minn. Pioneers Wednesday and lost 5-3 in 12 innings.
Marc Franson pitched 11 1/3 innings for the giving up one run on six hits walking three and striking out five. Elliot Jensen came in with the bases loaded and one out and hit the first batter on his first pitch to give the Pioneers the lead. He gave up three more runs in the inning.
The Skeeters came back in the bottom of the inning with two runs and stranded the tying run on first base.
Tyler Regnier made his debut at shortstop for the Skeeters, going 2-3 at the plate.
The Skeeters also announced that they will be hosting an amateur men's baseball tournament Saturday and Sunday August 29 and 30 at the Borwn Athletic Facility. The Beldenville Buzzsaws will be making there amateur debut in the tournament, a team that will be made up of Hager City Skeeters, Bay City Bombers and Ellsworth Hubber players.
