Village beautification underway, chamber told
By Bill Kirk
Flowers have been planted in the village’s business districts, the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce was told Thursday.
Chamber Assistant Laurie Cox credited the area’s Master Gardeners, various businesses and others for what she called a “quick effort” to get the sidewalk planters filled. The project involved an expense, however, so special containers are being put in outlets throughout the community for public donations, not only to the floral improvements, but general beautification as well.
The Master Gardeners are also coming up with a landscaping plan for the “Welcome to Ellsworth” signs at the entrances to the village, Cox said. The different signs will get different treatments, depending on the terrain and surroundings.
