Although Kim Webb is not entirely sure, she thinks there’s something unique about Erika Wolf’s fourth straight appearance on the first team of the All Dunn-St. Croix Conference squad.
“I think it’s the first time in league history that a player has made the first team as pitcher and catcher and outfielder,” Webb, Elmwood’s head coach, said. “She’s an amazing player and someone whose shoes are going to be very difficult for us to fill next year.”
But the Raiders will no doubt try and will be bolstered by the return of two additional first team players in Kelsey Leach and Amanda Brunner.
Also making the first team All D-SC from Pierce County is Spring Valley-Plum City players Kimmy Keehr and Aarynn Deutsch.
Raiders will have their battery back for next year. They return the league’s top pitcher in sophomores Leach and Brunner. Leach’s ERA was 1.16 with 127 strikeouts. Brunner hit .234 and drove in 16 runs.
Wolf led the league in hitting with .527 batting average. She played shortstop for the Raiders this season after pitching the previous two seasons.
This is the third season Keehr, an infielder, has made the first team (she was honorable mention as a freshman). Deutsch, an outfielder, received honorable mention as a sophomore before moving up to the first team this past spring.
Also making the first team were sophomores Nikki Brooks and Ashley Adkins and junior Megan Revoir from conference champion St. Croix Central. Elk Mound senior Amanda Newman made the first team along with Glenwood City seniors Brittany Myers and Emilee Standaert, Mondovi senior Renee Patterson and Pepin junior Samantha Lerum.
Myers and Standaert were both on the first team last season.
Elmwood juniors Becky Wolf and Renee Lehmann made the second team in the infield and outfield respectively. SV-PC junior Molly Freund was tabbed for the outfield.
Pierce County players receiving honorable mention were SV-PC seniors Larissa Feuerhelm at catcher and Alyssa Gould in the infield. Junior Cardinal infielder Billie Nelson also received honorable mention.
