TO THE EDITOR:
For the past three months, the Courtyard Restaurant and St. John’s UCC has been supplying our community with a free dinner at the Courtyard Restaurant.
What a wonderful opportunity to meet your friends, neighbors and strangers in a community setting. The Courtyard started this “stimulus dining” experience for people who were out of work, on tight budgets and couldn’t afford to dine out several months ago. It was so successful that Bretta Hovel, owner of the Courtyard, with the help of the St. John’s UCC congregation, decided to open it up to the community.
I’ve enjoyed several evenings of dining with friends and look forward to attending the next Dine Out on the fourth Tuesday of each month (this month being July 28).
A tip jar is set out for anyone wanting to make a donation to the Prescott Food Shelf. The meal is completely free. This is what community is all about.
I’m so glad I live in Prescott and get to experience this kind of generosity. See you on July 28 for the next one.
