Trial date set for Rowan
A county woman will stand trial in September for making threats against two Judges.By: Jason Schulte, Pierce County Herald
A trial date was set in the case of a county woman accused of making threats toward a Judge.
On Sept. 23, a jury will hear the case against Tally Rowan, 34, who is charged with two counts of the Class H felony.
La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Ramona Gonzalez ruled there was enough probable cause for the case to continue during Wednesday’s preliminary hearing.
One witness testified that while sharing a cell block with Rowan for five days, she made threats every day against Pierce County Circuit Court Judge Robert Wing and Buffalo/Pepin Circuit Court Judge James Duvall, the two Judges that presided over her case in which she was found guilty of battery to a police officer and two misdemeanors (Rowan is currently in jail awaiting sentencing for those crimes Sept. 22). The witness also testified that Rowan made threats to police officers as well.
A second witness testified that while in jail she heard Rowan yelling about the Judges, and wanting to shoot them. She was unsure about the number of threats that were made.
“She seemed pretty mad about everything,” she added.
