Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce members heard a presentation about the Pierce County Gift Box Program and his chiropractic practice from Kyle Kollbaum of Kollbaum Chiropractic Thursday.

Kollbaum, who’s a member of Crossroad Community Church just west of the village, said the church is taking over the program. The public will be able to sign up to help a family of four, for example, then be provided a list of the family’s needs, he explained. These helpers will go out and get items from the list, bringing them to the church for delivery in time for the holidays.

“It’s more personal than just writing out a check,” he said about why he likes this approach to donating.

Information Kollbaum distributed to chamber members indicates the church will accept applications from families starting Tuesday, Nov. 3. Church officials will pair them with compatible sponsors. In return, the sponsors, both individual and business, will purchase gifts for their sponsored family or families and drop them off at the church. The program will also take monetary donations to assure all applicants will receive this blessing.

For more information about the non-denominational, tax deductible program or how to sign up to be a sponsor, call the church office at 273-3678 Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or visit gbp@crossroadcommunitychurch.info.
