Get 'Hooked on Prescott' with the city's annual celebration
PRESCOTT--Prescott residents are asking visitors to get “Hooked on Prescott” as the city’s annual celebration commences this week.
PRESCOTT--Prescott residents are asking visitors to get “Hooked on Prescott” as the city’s annual celebration commences this week.
Events over the four-day celebration include a geocache run, street dances, fishing contest, classic car show, coronation and the grand parade Sunday afternoon.
Thursday
Prescott Daze kicks off with a presentation of “Charlotte’s Web” by the Summer School and Drama Club at 7 p.m. at the middle school gym stage. Tickets are $5 for adults, children 12 and under are $4. Concessions are available.
Friday
The second annual geocache poker run begins at 8 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. Saturday. Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt using a hand-held GPS device and multi-million dollar military satellites. For more information, contact Michelle Johnson at 262-3626.
At 3:30 p.m., the Knights of Columbus will sponsor a punt, pass and kick at the high school football field for boys and girls ages eight to 13. The evening festivities kick off at 6 p.m., with Churchill Market holding an eating championship in which contestants will be classified by age. Pre-registration is required.
