New service
The Pierce County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), in accordance with the senior centers in Ellsworth and Prescott, will start a new program this week in those cities. From 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Thursday in Ellsworth, seniors will now have the opportunity to get a ride from their home to Pamida, Hinck’s, banks and the post office. Kathy Haas, ADRC Program Manager, explained the ADRC has always provided transportation services for medical reasons, but decided to expand their options. “With the new housing units, there are a lot of people that don’t drive,” she said, as ADRC will supply the mini-van and a driver. For Ellsworth, she said a phone call to the Ellsworth Senior Center (273-5873) with name and address is necessary. For Prescott, call the Senior Center Meal Site at 262-5195. Prescott’s date and times will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays, with locations yet to be announced.
