Gophers' Triplett named national Defensive Player of the Week
Minnesota SportsThe U's Nate Triplett from Delano, Minn., was named the national Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Air Force.
Minnesota's Nate Triplett has been named the nation's defensive player of the week for his performance Saturday.
He made 17 tackles, returned a fumble 52 yards for a touchdown and broke up a pass in a key situation during the 20-13 win over Air Force.
The Gophers' second game in new TCF Stadium will take place Saturday against top-ranked California.
Athletic Director Joel Maturi says they'll try to make things run a little more smoothly. He says the stadium will open up earlier and they'll add more gates to get fans inside faster. He says adding more workers could speed things up at the concession stands.
