Weiss wins league title; Panther girls place third in MBC meet

Ellsworth's Tiffany Weiss becomes the first Panther MBC Tournament Champion in girls tennis since 2002 when she won the No. 4 singles title in the conference meet Tuesday.

DURAND - Ellsworth's Tiffany Weiss becomes the first Panther MBC Tournament Champion in girls tennis since 2002 when she won the No. 4 singles title in the conference meet Tuesday.

Weiss defeated New Richmond's Hailey Davis in the championship match in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-1. Weiss had also won her semifinal match in three sets as well.

The Panthers also had one of their best finishes in the league meet since 2002. They took third with 15 points. New Richond won the tournament with an overwhelming 40 points.

Ellsworth scored all its points in singles competition. Claire Hines placed second at No. 3 singles; Nikki Marson was third at No. 1 singles and Sabine Rudolph was fourth at No. 2 singles.
