An 11-point, 200-plus-pound buck was one of the impressive deer registered at the Speedway station in Ellsworth on opening day of the gun-deer season Saturday.

An 11-point, 200-plus-pound buck was one of the impressive deer registered at the Speedway station in Ellsworth on opening day of the gun-deer season Saturday. Cody Anderson of Hager City shot the animal with the trophy rack around 8:30 a.m. in the Esdaile area. Anderson, who was shooting from the ground, said the buck went probably another 300 yards before it dropped.
