MADISON - Edgar High School quarterback Justin Sinz has been named the AP’s Wisconsin player-of-the-year. He led the Wildcats – coached by his father Jerry Sinz – to the Division-Six state championship last week, with a 46-to-7 romp over Eau Claire Regis in the title game.
Edgar went 14-and-0 while out-scoring its opponents 651-to-20. Justin Sinz says he’ll decide on his future by Christmas.
He said Purdue recently gave him a scholarship offer – and the Boilermakers want to try him out at tight end.
Tom Aldrich of Burlington Catholic Central is the AP’s coach-of-the-year, after leading his Hilltoppers to back-to-back state titles in Division-Seven. Central beat Chippewa Falls McDonell 27-to-15 in last week’s championship contest.
