Brewer News: Brewers interested in veteran catcher Zaun

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Brewers are interested in acquiring veteran catcher Gregg Zaun.
The Brewers have apparently lost Jason Kendall after they refused to offer him salary arbitration for next year. He made five-million dollars last season, and the Brewers are trying to cut their costs at that position so they can spend more on pitching.
The 38-year-old Zaun made one-and-a-half million dollars last season, as he hit .260 in 90 games for Baltimore and Tampa Bay with eight homers and 27 R-B-I’s. The Rays failed to pick up a two-million-dollar option for Zaun, but they did offer him salary arbitration.
He’s a 15-year veteran, and reports say the Rays are interested in keeping him – and Colorado is also interested in picking him up.
