Prescott girls hoops improve to 3-1 after win
Prescott High School's girls' basketball team won its third game of the season 56-31 over Trinity High School of Eagan, Minnesota Friday.
PRESCOTT - Prescott High School's girls' basketball team won its third game of the season 56-31 over Trinity High School of Eagan, Minnesota Friday.
A slow start in the first quarter, Prescott's pressure defense and good shooting in transition helped the Cardinals build a 27-15 lead at halftime. The Cardinals outscored Trinity 26-16 in the second half, including 11-4 in the third quarter.
Prescott's defense held Trinity's leading scorer in the first half, center Theresa Gross, to zero points in the second half. She had nine points in the ballgame to lead her team.
PHS was led in scoring by Alyssa Krings 16 points, 12 points from Megan Murphy and nine points from Mary Kate Pryor.
Prescott begins Middle Border Conference play Tuesday at home vs. Osceola.
