Plourde has 10 kills but Gophers beat CSU in regional

MINNEAPOLIS - Somerset's Megan Plourde recorded 10 kills for Colorado State in the NCAA regional volleyball match against Minnesota Friday. But it was the Golden Gophers winning 3-1 at the Sports Pavillon.

The Rams were unable to overcome a match-high 22 kills by Minneosta's freshman outside hitter Tabitha Love.

With the loss, Colorado State closes its 15th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance with a 25-6 overall record. The Gophers, the 11th seed in the tournament, improve to 27-8 and will face No. 3 seeded Florida State for a berth in the Final Four tonight at 7 p.m. at the Sports Pavillon
