DETROIT - The UW-Green Bay men’s basketball team snapped a five-game winning streak yesterday, when it lost to Oakland 76-52 in Rochester Michigan.
Oakland led by three at the break, and took control with a 15-to-2 run to start the second half.
The Phoenix were without leading scorer Rahmon Fletcher, who injured a knee in last week’s upset of 20th-ranked Wisconsin. Oakland had a 40-to-29 rebounding edge.
Green Bay’s 52 points were their lowest of the season, and they had a season-low shooting percentage of 34-and-a-half. Troy Cotton led the Phoenix with 12 points. Keith Benson had a monster game for the Golden Grizzlies with 23 points, 18 rebounds, and six blocked shots.
Oakland improved to 5-5. UW-Green Bay fell to 9-3, and will host Youngstown State on Saturday.
