Car in ditch
Over half a foot of snowfall Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning plus high winds made for treacherous travel in Pierce County. A car was ditched along Hwy. 63, about five miles south of the west intersection with Hwy. 10 in the vicinity of Anderson Farms. The car was left until conditions improved to pull it.

Blowing snow
Barn’s Bluff at Red Wing, approached from the Wisconsin side shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, was shrouded in blowing snow. The snow cleared itself nicely in open areas, where the highway was crowned and ditches open, but in treed and sheltered areas, roads were drifting.
