Grand jury in Houston indicts Jolly again on drug charges

HOUSTON - A federal grand jury in Houston has issued a second drug indictment against Green Bay Packers’ defensive lineman Johnny Jolly.
Prosecutors dropped the case earlier this fall, but the grand jury ordered yesterday that the felony drug charge be re-filed. Jolly and two other people were arrested in July of 2008, after police officers found a large amount of codeine in their vehicle.
The charge was re-filed after Houston Police bought new equipment to test the codeine they have in evidence. Jolly said earlier that he’s innocent. Prosecutors must prove that Jolly knew that the drug was in the car, and that he had control over it.
Prosecutors say they’ll give him a chance to turn himself in. A court appearance will then be scheduled.
