MILWAUKEE - Kobe Bryant hit a 15-foot jump shot at the buzzer in overtime last night to give the Los Angeles Lakers a 107-to-106 win over the Bucks in Milwaukee.
The Bucks blew a six-point lead with 1:28 left in the O-T, as Bryant scored the game’s final seven points.
His last-second jumper was made over Charlie Bell – who said the Bucks had numerous chances to win, and could blame nobody but themselves for the loss. Milwaukee’s Andrew Bogut tied the game by scoring in the lane with 20-point-seven seconds left in regulation. He then missed a free throw, and Bryant missed a jumper to send the contest into overtime.
Bryant, playing with a broken right finger, had 39 points. Pau Gasol had 26 points and 22 rebounds as the Lakers won their 13th game in their last 14. Michael Redd scored 25 points off the bench for Milwaukee, as he continues to get over a left knee injury. The Bucks only made 12-of-17 free throws, while Lakers made 29-of-33.
Bell said the discrepancy showed that the Bucks are a jump-shooting, and they don’t have players who quote, “attack the basket.” The Bucks ended a two-game winning streak and dropped below .500 at 11-and-12. They’ll play in Cleveland tomorrow night.
