MADISON - The Wisconsin women’s basketball team upset 16th-ranked Michigan State 62-to-54 last night in Madison.
The Spartans committed 16 turnovers in the first half, and 26 on the night. The Badgers were up by seven at the break. Michigan State got to within four with 1:41 left, but could get no closer. Alyssa Karel scored 21 points for Wisconsin, which improved to 1-and-1 in the Big Ten and 11-2 overall. Michigan State’s leading scorer, Allyssa DeHahn, was held to nine points.
The Spartans fell to 0-2 in the conference and 9-4 overall. The Badgers will play at Iowa on Thursday night.
