MADISON - A tough Wisconsin defense held number-15 Ohio State to less than 33 percent shooting from the field as the Badgers won the Big Ten Conference opener 65-43.
Wisconsin came into the game ranked number-23. With offensive standout Jon Leuer on the bench, the Badgers were still about to build a 34-25 halftime lead. Leuer returns after intermission to score 11 second-half points as the Badgers pulled away.
Wisconsin scored straight points during one rally. Trevon Hughes scored 16 and took down seven rebounds to lead the way. Ohio State played without Evan Turner who has a back injury.
