UW men's hoops blast Penn State, face MSU Wednesday

STATE COLLEGE, Penn. - The Wisconsin men's basketball team won its sixth straight game yesterday, 63-to-46 at Penn State. The 23rd-ranked Badgers were up by 12 points at the half.
Penn State got to within nine with 11 minutes left, but Trevon Hughes and Tim Jarmusz hit back-to-back three-pointers to help Wisconsin pull away. Hughes had 18 points and seven assists for Wisconsin, which out-shot the Nittany Lions 46-to-35 percent.
Talor Battle scored 15 points for the Lions. And he had five of the 10 turnovers committed by Penn State, which fell to 0-2 in the Big Ten and 8-6 overall. The Badgers improved to 2-0 in the conference, and 12-2 overall. Wisconsin will play at Michigan State on Wednesday night.
