Historical group marks Lincoln’s birthday Tuesday

PRESCOTT—The Prescott Area Historical Society (PAHS) is observing the 200th Birthday anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln during the society’s quarterly meeting next Tuesday. Sporting a Lincoln-era hat and costume, Ken Roen will portray Lincoln, professionally characterizing his persona all those years ago! Roen is a retired teacher and active member of the PAHS.

PRESCOTT — The Prescott Area Historical Society (PAHS) is observing the 200th Birthday anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln during the society’s quarterly meeting next Tuesday.

Sporting a Lincoln-era hat and costume, Ken Roen will portray Lincoln, professionally characterizing his persona all those years ago! Roen is a retired teacher and active member of the PAHS.

His presentation (7:45-8:15 p.m.) will be at the Welcome and Heritage Center in Prescott by the Clock Tower on Main Street at the Hwys. 10 and 35 junction. The public—young, old and students—are most welcome to witness Roen’s memorable presentation! Coffee, cookies and conversation will follow. Early visitors (6:30-7 p.m.) can enjoy hot cider and a tour through the museum’s many exhibits.

All are welcome to attend a brief meeting (7-7:45 p.m.) and learn about exciting PAHS plans for 2010! A free van ride to the Heritage Center is available for those in Prescott who need transportation. Call 262-5086 by noon on Tuesday.
