West Lafayette, IN (Sports Network) - E'Twaun Moore and Robbie Hummel each posted 18 points, as fourth-ranked Purdue downed Minnesota, 79-60, at Mackey Arena.

JaJuan Johnson scored 16 with 10 rebounds for the Boilermakers (14-0, 2-0 Big Ten), who look to stay one of the nation's remaining unbeatens at Wisconsin on Saturday. Purdue's current record is tied for the best start in school history. Purdue also started 14-0 in the 1993-94 season before advancing to the Elite Eight.

Paul Carter had 15 points, and Damian Johnson added 12 with seven boards for the Gophers (11-4, 2-1), who had won seven straight games coming in. They lost without the services of center Ralph Sampson III, who was sidelined with an ankle injury.

Johnson poured in six points during a 10-3 run to begin the second half, leaving Purdue with a 45-31 advantage.

Minnesota briefly awoke a short time later, cutting its deficit to 48-40, but Johnson's dunk and free throw extended the Boilermakers' lead to 51-40. The home team's edge never dipped below eight the rest of the way.
