Wild break losing streak
Minnesota Sports -- The Minnesota Wild snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Calgary Wednesday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
ST. PAUL - Forward Eric Belanger elebrated his 600th career NHL game with a pair of goals, helping the Wild snap a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over Calgary last night in Saint Paul.
Belanger's first goal came on the power play and tied the score at one in the first period. He scored again in the second period to push the Wild's lead to 3-1. Kyle Brodziak and Cal Clutterbuck also scored for the Wild, who got 25 saves from Niklas Backstrom to beat the top team in the Northwest Division. The Flames' only goal came just 94 seconds in the game from Ollie Jokinen. Jarome Iginla, who has more goals against the Wild than any other player, was held scoreless for the ninth straight meetings between the teams.
The Wild are eight points behind third-place Vancouver in the division, and are home again on Saturday against Chicago.
