Wisconsin Sports--The US Under-18 hockey team will play the junior league Green Bay Gamblers tonight, and the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison tomorrow night.
The U-S Under-18 hockey team will play the junior league Green Bay Gamblers tonight, and the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison Saturday night.
The Under-18 squad is part of the Team USA’s development program and Badgers’ coach Mike Eaves led that program from 2000-2002. Two players on the Under-18 squad have signed with the Badgers for next fall – forward Michael Mersch and defensemen Frankie Simonelli.
The national squad is 3-5 against NCAA Division I competition this season – and they’ll have an especially tough challenge against the fourth-ranked Badgers, who are 12-5-3 overall.
