MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Brewers officials will meet today with left-hander Mark Mulder about a possible comeback attempt.

The left-hander has only made four starts since August of 2006, and has had several operations on his throwing shoulder. But Brewers’ pitching coach Rick Peterson says the 32-year-old Mulder has a “burning desire” to return to the Majors, and he feels great physically.

Peterson coached Mulder in Oakland, when he went 21-and-8 for the A’s back in 2001. Four years later, he went 16-and-8 for Saint Louis with two shutouts before a torn rotator cuff ended his season. He struggled in ’06, going 6-and-7 before he was shut down in August of that year.
