Randy Berry made two free throws with nine-tenths-of-a-second left to give UW-Green Bay a 68-to-66 home win over Wright State last night.

Rahmon Fletcher scored 18 points for Green Bay, which won its 15th straight Horizon League home contest. Berry had 17 points and 10 rebounds. He made all four of his shots from the field, and all nine of his free throws. In the first half, Fletcher made a 26-foot shot at the buzzer to get Green Bay to within four. The Phoenix then scored the first 13 points of the second half to put UWGB up by nine. But Wright State chipped away and tied the game at 56. It was even from that point, until Berry’s free throws at the end. Vaughn Duggins scored 20 for Wright State, which dropped to 4-3 in the Horizon League and 11-7 overall. Green Bay improved to 5-and-2 in the conference and 12-6 overall. They’ll host Detroit tomorrow night.

The UW-Milwaukee men collapsed in the second half last night, and lost at home to Detroit 81-to-65.

Chase Simon burned the Panthers for 22 points in the second half, and 33 on the night. He also had 12 rebounds. Milwaukee was up by three at the half. But after scoring the first basket of the second half, the Panthers went over 15 minutes before getting their next field goal. Detroit, coached by former UW-Madison assistant Ray McCallum, out-shot UWM 55-to-30 percent for the game – and the Titans improved 5-2 in the Horizon League and 12-6 overall. Ricky Franklin scored 22 for UW-Milwaukee, which fell to 2-4 in the conference and 10-8 overall. The Panthers will host Wright State tomorrow.
