UW women's hoops tops Michigan State again

EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the second time this season, the Wisconsin women upset a nationally-ranked Michigan State squad.
Taylor Wurtz hit the game-winning lay-up with 52 seconds left, to give the Badgers a 48-to-45 victory in East Lansing. Wisconsin came back from a 14-point deficit by closing the game on a 23-to-6 run. The 20th-ranked Spartans only made one field goal in the final 12 minutes and 15 seconds.
Wurtz led the Badgers with 16 points. Allyssa DeHahn scored 12 for Michigan State, which dropped its fourth straight contest and fell to 2-4 in the Big Ten and 11-6 overall. The Badgers improved to 4-3 in the league, and 14-4 overall. They won in East Lansing for the first time since 2002, and they swept their season series against Michigan State for the first time since ’01. Wisconsin will host Illinois on Sunday.
