Wisconsin News
- Both University of Wisconsin hockey team made gallant comebacks but fell behind too early in Saturday losses

If you're looking for the key to Saturday's 5-3 loss for the Wisconsin women's hockey team, check out the second period. The Badgers out-shot Minnesota-Duluth 23-3, but the Bulldogs scored on two of their three shots. Wisconsin actually out-shot the Dogs 42-26, but still lost. The two teams wrap up the weekend series this afternoon in Duluth. Breann Frykas, Brianna Decker and Kelly Nash had Wisconsin's goals.

A furious comeback fell just one goal short as Wisconsin dropped a 6-5 WCHA decision to Colorado College. Colorado College scored the first two goals of the game, then Ben Street cut the lead in half. When Blake Geoffrion scored in the second period it was still 4-2. Colorado Collage went up 5-2 after two frames. Jordy Murray cut the lead to 5-3, then, with two minutes to go a score by Street made it 6-4. Doug Stepan's goal with eight seconds remaining made it 6-5. On a face-off with one second remaining, Blake Geoffrion slapped the puck at the goal, but just missed for the Badgers.

The Badgers return home next weekend for an important WCHA series against Denver.
