HUDSON – A woman has been charged with felony theft from a business in connection with her employment at a downtown bar and restaurant.

One felony count of theft against Tracee Danielle Anderson, 28, was filed in St. Croix County Circuit Court Jan. 11.

The criminal complaint alleged Anderson took some $55,000 from Baker’s Bar and Grill while employed there since Sept. 15, 2004.

Proprietor Pete Foster, after getting a tip in the mail, summoned police Dec. 9 to investigate. Foster and a general manager inspected sales receipts for every day Anderson worked since September 2004 and discovered greater than normal discrepancies in returns, the complaint said.

Anderson allegedly admitted to investigators to taking about $5,000 from the business because she felt the drink prices were too high.

She was scheduled to make an initial appearance in court Jan. 25 before Judge Howard W. Cameron.
