NEW ORLEANS - When Darren Sharper went to Minnesota, he loved playing against his former Green Bay teammate Brett Favre. Now, Sharper says he looks forward to taking on Favre again, when the New Orleans Saints host Favre and the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

Sharper is a 13-year veteran and the NFL leader in career interceptions among active players with 63. He and Favre are still friends, after they played eight years together in Green Bay. But Sharper loves talking trash to Favre when they play against each other – and he says Sunday could be Favre’s quote, “last hurrah.”

Sharper is playing for his second Super Bowl – his first being with the Packers 12 years ago. He’s having one of his best seasons of his career with the Saints, after the Vikings let him go last spring. Sharper had nine interceptions in the regular season, and returned three for touchdowns. And he’s now tied with Ronnie Lott for the NFL record for career picks.
