MINNEAPOLIS - (The Sports Network) The University of Minnesota has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract extension with head football coach Tim Brewster.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune confirmed the pact through Brewster, who is unable to sign and finalize the agreement as he is away from the university with national signing day fast approaching.
Brewster originally signed a five-year contract upon taking over the program prior to the 2007 season. The additional two years will take him through the 2013 season.
The Gophers went 1-11 in Brewster's first season at the helm but have since made a pair of appearances in the Insight Bowl, going 7-6 and 6-7, respectively, the last two years. Both bowl games resulted in losses.
