UW wins both games at Badger Hockey Classic
Wisconsin Sports- More than 55,000 fans were in Camp Randall Stadium, braving a wind chill near 10 degrees to watch the Culver's Camp Randall Hockey Classic played outdoors. The crowd was the second-largest ever to watch a college hockey game. And they also saw the UW men's and women's team victorious.

Two power-play goals in the final six minutes by Brendan Smith gave the Wisconsin men's hockey team a 3-2 win over Michigan.Smith pounded the game winning home with less than 90 seconds left on the clock. He had tied the score just four minutes before. Before that, Michigan led 2-1. Jordy Murray got the Badgers' first goal in the first period. The win boosts Wisconsin's record to 16-7-4. Michigan drops to 15-13-1. This was the last non-conference game of the regular season for the Badgers.
With an NCAA-record for a women's game watching in the cold, Wisconsin dispatched Bemidji State easily 6-1. Wisconsin's win improves its record to 16-10-3, including 13-9-1 in the WCHA. Freshman Brianna Decker had a pair of goals in the win. Bemidji wasn't able to score until the game was decided. The attendance easily surpassed the old record of nearly 69 hundred who watched the first-ever outdoor game in women's college hockey history last month in Boston.
Wisconsin and Bemidji State wrap up the two-game weekend series this afternoon at inside the Kohl Center.
