MU women snap two-game skid with win over USF

- The Marquette women ended a two-game skid by beating South Florida at home last night, 63-to-50.

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women ended a two-game skid by beating South Florida at home last night, 63-to-50.

The Golden Eagles had a 13-4 run to close out the first half, and they were up by five at the break. South Florida made its first three shots in the second half to go up by one. But Marquette then went on a decisive 10-2 run and pulled away. The Eagles shot 44-percent in the second half after making just 29-percent in the first 20 minutes.

Angel Robinson had 16 points and six assists for Marquette. Jessica Lawson had 17 points and 12 rebounds for South Florida, which fell to 4-6 in the Big East Conference and 13-10 overall.

The Golden Eagles improved to 5-5 in league play and 14-9 overall. They’ll host Providence on Saturday.
