VANCOUVER - Burnsville's Lindsey Vonn is scheduled today to test out her injured right leg in a warm-up for the start of the winter Olympic downhill skiing competition.
Vonn yesterday revealed she suffered a deep muscle bruise on her right shin earlier this month during a practice run in Austria. She's favored in all five downhill events at the Olympics, with her first race scheduled for Sunday. Vonn has had trouble with injuries in the past. She fell during practice at the 2006 winter Olympics in Italy and failed to win a medal.
Last year, Vonn accidentally cut her thumb while opening a champagne bottle during a post-race celebration, and injured her wrist when she crashed into a gate while racing.
