Michigan tops Gophers in men's basketball 71-63
Minnesota Sports- DeShawn Sims scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Michigan Wolverines to a 71-63 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a Big Ten Conference tilt at Williams Arena.

MINNEAPOLIS - DeShawn Sims scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Michigan Wolverines to a 71-63 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a Big Ten Conference tilt at Williams Arena.
Manny Harris added 20 points and seven assists for the Wolverines (12-12, 5-7 Big Ten), while Zack Gibson chipped in with eight points in just nine minutes off the bench.
Minnesota (14-9, 5-6) was paced by Blake Hoffarber who scored 16 points in a losing effort. Paul Carter and Damian Johnson also got involved, netting 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Despite shooting just 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, Michigan still managed to take a 27-26 lead the break.The Wolverines pulled away in the second stanza, knocking down 17-of-25 shots from the floor, en route to an eight-point win. Michigan's defense forced 15 turnovers on the night, trading them in for 21 points.
