MADISON - Wisconsin forward Jon Leuer returned to practice yesterday for the first time since he broke a bone in his left wrist on January ninth. He told reporters he feels like he’s quote, “game-ready.”

But no one is saying if Leuer will play in the Badgers’ next contest on Thursday night in his home state of Minnesota. Leuer, a junior from Long Lake, was the Badgers’ second-leading scorer when he went down.

He averages almost 15-and-a-half points a game, and has missed the last nine contests. Associate head coach Greg Gard said Leuer did some good things at practice. And Leuer – who wore a wrist bandage – said he’s not worried about aggravating it.

Wisconsin has gone 6-and-3 with Leuer gone. The Badgers are coming off a home loss to Illinois and a home victory over Indiana. Wisconsin is 9-4 in the Big Ten, and 19-6 overall. Yesterday, they dropped three spots in both major polls – and they’re now ranked 14th by the A-P and 16th by the coaches.
