MILWAUKEE - Will he or won’t he? There were at least two reports yesterday that veteran pitcher Mark Mulder would retire instead of trying to make a comeback with the Milwaukee Brewers. But later in the day, his agent Gregg Clifton said Mulder has not retired – and he’s still considering his options.

The 32-year-old Mulder has only made four starts in the last three-and-a-half years, while having two rotator cuff surgeries on his left throwing shoulder.

The Brewers were interested because Mulder threw for manager Ken Macha and pitching coach Rick Peterson when both were at Oakland. They had invited him to spring training as a non-roster player. Assistant general manager Gord Ash said the Brewers have not officially been told that Mulder would retire.
