Davis takes silver in 1500, U.S. hockey team plays Canada tonight

VANCOUVER - Milwaukee's Shani Davis got the same result in this year's Olympics as he got last time -- a gold in the thousand meters and silver in the 1500

Davis was upset by Mark Tuitert of the Netherlands in the Vancouver speed skating event yesterday. Tuitert was ranked just fifth coming into the event and he won in a time more than four seconds slower than Davis' world record.

The U.S. Curling team -- led by Captain Debbie McCormick of Rio, Nicole Joraanstad of Madison and Tracy Sachtjen of Lodi, edged Great Britain Saturday in an extra 11th end. The U.S. is 2-3 in round robin play, facing Canada and Sweden today.

Jilleane Rookard of West Allis and Catherine Raney Norman of Elm Grove compete in the 15 hundred meters this afternoon and the U.S. men's hockey team takes on Canada tonight with the face-off schedule for 6:40 p.m. The U.S. team includes Phil Kessel of Madison, Joe Pavelski of Stevens Point, Brian Rafalski of the University of Wisconsin and Ryan Suter of Madison. UW's Dany Heatley plays for Canada.
