Seeds announced for WIAA boys basketball tourney

All of Pierce County's prep boys basketball teams will be on the road next Tuesday as they all got high seeds in WIAA regional tournaments. The pairings were made Sunday.

All of Pierce County's prep boys basketball teams will be on the road next Tuesday as they all got high seeds in WIAA regional tournaments. The pairings were made Sunday.

In the Division 2 Eau Claire Memorial Regional, No. 7 seeded Ellsworth(2-18)_is at No. 2 Baldwin-Woodville (12-8). The winner will take on either No. 3 Altoona (13-7) or No. 6 Durand (8-12) in Thursday's regional semifinal.

In the Division 3 Amery Regional, Spring Valley (2-18) gets the No. 8 seed and will play at No. 1 seeded and top ranked St. Croix Central (19-2). Prescott 10-10) is on the other side of the bracket as a No. 7 seed and plays at No. 2 Glenwood City (13-6). The winner takes on the winner of the No. 3 Webster (15-5) and No. 6 Clear Lake (12-8) and the SV-SCC winner plays either No. 4 St. Croix Falls (11-8) or No. 5 Grantsburg (11-10).

Elmwood (7-11) has the No. 5 seed and will play at No. 4 Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran (10-8) in the Arcadia Regional. The winner will face either No. 1 Chippewa Falls McDonell (11-8) or No. 8 New Auburn (5-14). Plum City (5-14) is the No. 7 seed and is at No. 2 Alma-Pepin (12-6) with the winner facing either No. 3 Eleva-Strum (8-12) or No. 6 Gilmanton (8-9).

Regional finals take place next weekend.
