RACINE - Wisconsin’s top-ranked high school basketball team in Division-One will forfeit some its victories. Racine Park is the subject of an internal investigation by the school district, because of some of its players broke a district policy on truancy.

The policy requires that players have no unexcused absences the week before a game. And principal Dan Thielen was told about some players missing school. He says attendance records are being verified, and the number of games to be forfeited will be determined today.

Racine Washington Park is 20-0, and has spent three weeks at the top of the AP’s Division-One boys’ poll. Thielen says all players will be eligible for the WIAA regionals which begin next Tuesday night – as long as they follow the school attendance policy.
