PHOENIX - Milwaukee Brewers’ left-hander Chris Capuano threw his first pitch with a Major League team in almost two years yesterday. He joined others in a bullpen session at spring training in Phoenix.
Capuano said his elbow feels fine after having two Tommy John reconstructive surgeries. And at this point, he’s more concerned about regaining his command.
Capuano won 18 games with the Brewers in 2005, and was an All-Star the following season. But on Saint Patrick’s Day of 2008, he tore a ligament while pitching in a spring training game against Seattle. And Capuano will have to prove himself in the minors before he can return to the big leagues. Brewers’ manager Ken Macha said Capuano will definitely get some innings this spring.
