Bernard Allen Owen, age 65, of Beldenville, Wis., died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn.
Bernard was born on March 20, 1944, in Red Wing, Minn., to Kenneth and Lucille (Hayes) Owen. He married Sharon Ostrander on June 22, 1963, in Ellsworth. Bernard worked for Farmers Union/Cenex/Consolidated Energy for 45 years.
Bernard enjoyed hunting, fishing, collector cars, demo-derbies, and anything that included his family. He really enjoyed being around people.
Bernard will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Sharon, Beldenville; three sons, Joseph Owen, Beldenville, Tony (Lisa) Owen, River Falls, Wis., Troy (Erin) Owen, River Falls; grandchildren, Baillie, Dillon, Joshua, Tiffany, and Codey Owen, Amanda Bergstrom; mother, Lucille Owen, Ellsworth, Wis.; sisters, Lois Melstrom, Ellsworth, Mary Ann (Butch) Gilbertson, Beldenville; brother, Dennis (Trudi) Owen, Ellsworth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; sister, Judy Owen; and brother in-law, Royce Melstrom.
Funeral services for Bernard will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Ellsworth. Rev. Susan Schneider Adams will officiate. Spring burial will be in the Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
